NL Energy Compact Café

NL ENergy Compact

The NL Energy Compact Café, of which Partners for Innovation is a proud participant, will next be hosted by FMO in the Hague on the 26th September. We are particularly excited about this one, as we will be reflecting together on the breakthroughs and developments from the successful 2 day workshop held in June, which explored “WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO TOGETHER TO CONTRIBUTE TO ACHIEVING SDG 7 IN THE COMING YEARS? – EXPLORING SHARED OPPORTUNITIES FOR PROJECTS IN SPECIFIC COUNTRIES”.

From this workshop, Partners for Innovation identified and initiated collaborative activities with the likes of Mimimoto, to explore local market opportunities and sustainability benefits for the utilisation of wood pellets produced from the COEGA plant in the region; of which our first shipment to the EU where there is currently market demand, is imminent! To aid Partners for Innovation in this opportunity analysis, we have appointed Nelly Dama as an intern from the Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen who will be conducting this research for her Masters thesis. We welcome Nelly and look forward to more collaborative and forward-thinking opportunities from the Netherlands, for Africa.

The NL Energy Compact is a collaboration between more than 25 organizations, knowledge institutes and NGOs. With the aim of providing everyone with affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy. By 2030, the organizations plan to provide sustainable energy to 100 million people and cleaner cooking options to 45 million people.
