Substantive transition

support

Strategic cooperation between different parties is essential for the transition to more sustainable land use. We guide this transition process by bringing organizations, companies and governments together, taking all interests into account in order to increase support and offering future prospects to agricultural and ecological parties through collaboration.

Transition of rural areas

Future prospects through agricultural-ecological cooperation

The Netherlands faces the enormous challenge of combating climate change and improving the quality of water, soil and nature. Part of this problem can be traced back to activities in rural areas, where agriculture has a large area. So that is also part of the solution. For example, through more nature-friendly business operations.

Nature-inclusive agriculture currently covers only just under three percent of the land area in the Netherlands. That share will have to be increased if we want to improve the quality of our landscape and climate. However, many parties are involved in the transition to more sustainable land use: national and regional governments, land managers, farmers, the chemical and agro-industry, agricultural organizations, nature organizations, banks and consumers. And the farmers are being pulled on all sides.

To achieve efficient and effective transition of the rural area, it is essential that these parties work together as best as possible. Because space is scarce and interests vary, good substantive process guidance is of decisive importance.

How do we approach that?

The use of land for agricultural purposes or nature development, or a combination thereof, mainly takes place at the local level. That is why we are in favor of an area-oriented approach built on mutual understanding, respect and motivation.

Thanks to our expertise and network, we are in a good position to provide independent, substantive process guidance through a joint, area-oriented approach with farmers, collectives and governments. We can help you with:

  • Making an inventory of tasks, wishes and interests in the area
  • Involving stakeholders
  • Joint formulation of a plan (area quotation)
  • Investigating the feasibility of the plans, including risk analysis and proposing solutions

Our aim: to carry out all our activities based on a long-term vision aimed at a sustainable and balanced development of agriculture and nature.
