Cocoa sector Ivory Coast major topic at SARA
The cocoa sector in Ivory Coast is an important source of income for this African country and its neighboring countries. However, the consequences for the climate and residual flows are aspects for which solutions must be found.
During SARA, a ten-day agricultural event in Abidjan, from September 29 to October 8, the third day was dedicated to focusing on the cocoa sector. And in particular the valorization of cocoa residues and their local processing. Noël N’Guessan from LONO Ivory Coast and Peter Karsch from Partners for Innovation presented the results of a study on the climate impact of the cocoa sector in Ivory Coast that was carried out in the context of the Climate and Energy Response Facility for the Dutch Embassy in Ivory Coast and RVO.
SARA is the largest agricultural fair in West Africa. It provides a platform for investment opportunities in the agriculture, livestock, fishing and forestry sectors. Watch the videos and photoreports about SARA 2023 that the Dutch embassy in Ivory Coast has made.
